Treopia Cannon was appointed the President/Chief Executive Officer of Girls Inc. of Greater Houston in October 2019.  Girls Inc. of Greater Houston (GIGH) mission is Inspiring ALL girls to be Strong, Smart and Bold.  GIGH currently serves over 550 girls via in-school, after-school, spring, and summer camp programming throughout the Greater Houston area.

Prior to accepting the position as CEO of Girls Inc. of Greater Houston, she served as the President/CEO of YWCA Lake County for three years.  Additionally, she served on the Board of Directors of YWCA as Treasurer for four years.  

Treopia has over 20 years of progressive experience as a Senior Executive in the Banking Industry in the Chicagoland and Metropolitan Detroit areas that also includes and over 15 years of dedicated service as an officer on numerous Non-Profit Boards and Community Outreach Organizations.  A few of her past affiliations include Lake County Partners Executive Certified Development Corp., City of Chicago TIF Works, Kenosha Area Business Alliance, College of Lake County Diversity Council, University of Illinois Extension Foundation, just to name a few.  Additionally, she is a Silver Lifetime Member of NAACP.

Treopia was the recipient of 2019 YWCA Visionary Leader Award; 2018 NAACP Civic Achievement Award; 2016 Sapphire Award for “Social Action”; recipient of 2012 Most Influential African American in Lake County (Business Leader); and inducted in University of Illinois-Extension Hall of Fame (Sponsorship and Commitment to Community), etc.  Treopia relocated to the Houston area because of her husband’s corporate relocation.
