April Burns brings 20 years of educational and professional experience to the Global/North American family company’s financial and administrative departments. April’s professional career began after a successful career as a collegiate basketball player at Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, Oklahoma where April earned a Bachelor of Science, Mathematics degree. After graduation, April taught Math and coached girl’s high school basketball at large public schools in Oklahoma. During this time, April earned her Master of Education degree, was voted Oklahoma Teacher of the Year by her peers and provided bookkeeping services to a non-profit.
April served on several boards throughout her professional and coaching career, including the Boys and Girls Club, Oklahoma Coaches Association, Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. After 16 years of teaching, April transitioned to the business sector. She joined the Global/North American family of companies and quickly advanced up the ranks. Within two years, April took over the duties of Controller and implemented the migration of the company’s financial and HR systems onto a unified platform. This effort required extensive planning with superior organizational skills to successfully migrate from SAP to Microsoft Dynamics SL. Additionally, the company’s stand-alone scheduling system and payroll system were pulled into the platform. |
