Amanda was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley and made the move to San Antonio 8 years ago on her own. She has always been eager to learn and ready to work hard. Her experience in the service industry began at 16 years old when she took on her very first serving job at a family-owned restaurant called the Seafarer. Since then, she has worked at a handful of restaurants and bars, working as many job codes she could, learning and growing with every new position.
Today, you can find Amanda at The Hoppy Monk in San Antonio, an independent and family-owned pub that is focused on supporting small and local businesses, especially breweries, distilleries, and farm-to-table food suppliers. At just 20 years old, she helped open The Hoppy Monk in San Antonio; beginning as a server, she very quickly was promoted to Lead Server, then Manager, and now currently steers the ship as the pub’s General Manager. She strongly believes that understanding not only the guests, but understanding and relating to her team has been instrumental in her success. Amanda is eager to share her experiences and successful strategies in the service industry, not limited to those working at bars, but applicable in any setting within the industry. A positive customer experience has been at the foremost goal of her entire career, and her years of experience have allowed her to create a vibrant, memorable, and even educational experience for her customers at The Hoppy Monk that keeps them coming back. |
